A home elevator, also known as a home lift, is a great long-term investment that allows you to access all rooms safely without encountering stairs.
But what’s the cost of such an item?
Whether it be for luxury or practical purposes, there are many different types and prices available when looking into buying your own lift.
We summarised the actual lift installed in Sydney and Brisbane to give you a ballpark figure for a home lift price
The Air Vacuum Home Lift and Flex-E Lift don’t require pit excavation so often are ideal to be placed directly on the existing floor.
A lot of Australians are thinking of purchasing a home lift for many reasons.
The lifts can make it easier for physically challenged individuals and senior citizens who have mobility issues by making their homes accessible without the need to use stairs internally.
A new trend is developing with many Australians opting for a residential stairlift as an affordable way so that they can stay at home rather than going into assisted living facilities such as retirement villages or nursing homes when families may not be able to provide full-time care anymore due either financial constraints like high rent costs, lack of availability from other caregivers like nurses and doctors because demand has increased significantly over time leading them near burnout requiring them taking more days off work which means less income coming in.

We have a single rounded passenger elevator with a diameter of 750mm / 30inches. This is the Air Vacuum Home Lift 30 able to support 159/350lbs weight. See the actual project for the smallest home lift we’ve installed in Sydney.
Council approval is not required for an interior home elevator installation if there are no structural changes. However, for an exterior home elevator, a notification from the council will be required and in some other states, a building permit may be required.
We recommend to check with your local council as requirements will vary.
Yes, we do have 5 key stages from the start of enquiry to lift installation
Stage 1 – We can provide estimate pricing for a lift based of plans or photos. If not available we can proceed to Stage 2.
Stage 2 – Site visit and survey at a time that suits you for us to then ascertain exact requirements and pricing.
Stage 3 – Upon confirmation of the proposal we can proceed with design stage. Detailed drawings will be supplied with revisions made until final design is ready. Once approved and payment stage is received, then lift manufacture will commence.
Stage 4 – Delivery & Installation, approximately 1 month prior the arrival of the lift, we will be in touch to schedule a pre site check and start date. Once the site is confirmed ready, we can then deliver and begin the installation of the lift. Allow between 1-2 weeks.
Stage 5 – Completion, once installation is completed we will arrange a handover meeting to provide training on how to use the lift, safety measures, manuals and servicing requirements.
Stage 6 – You are now ready to use your new lift!
Absolutely, most of our lift range are able to travel up to 5-6 landings with rate load up to 250-500kg
Yes, As per Australian AS1735 standards and NCC E3.6 all lifts ( home lifts, commercial lift, wheelchair lifts and platform lifts) except Stairway lifts require an active emergency phone that is able to be answered by a help centre 24/7. We do provide this service as well and can be included in our lift packages.
Generally there are two key types of doors:
Swing Doors – These can be manual open or automatic opening to suit your preference.
Automatic Sliding Doors – The same as an elevator. Simply slide open and self close.
Lifts may be GST exempt, if installation is due to a medical or limited mobility reason. A doctors letter would be required.

Hydraulic lifts are the most popular, as they use fluid pressure to raise and lower the platform.
Gearless drive lifts are an environmentally friendly solution as it uses no fossil hydraulic oils, it also has reduced energy consumption due to the use of a counterweight mechanism. This counterweight mechanism balances out the weight of the car plus half of the load that the car can carry. It, therefore, uses up to 90% less energy than any other system.
Finally, pneumatic lifts operate on pressurized air, making them very quiet and smooth-running. Often a builder may not be required for these types of lifts.
