Direct Lifts supplied and installed the Vertical Transportation (X-10) for a four-level apartment building in Dee Why, NSW.
This was the ideal solution for low headroom as the minimum overrun requirement was only 3000mm which is the lowest headroom requirement in the commercial market.
This allowed the building height to remain under the maximum allowable height to comply with required Northern Beaches council approval.
The lift features AS1735.12 compliant buttons with braille and illumination. Also AS1735.12 complaint handrail with curved ends for passengers with limited mobility.
This class of lift within the National Construction Code 2019 (NCC E3.6) is the Electric Passenger Lift and there is no limitation on height mostly due to its ability to travel at high speeds of 1 to 1.6 m/sec.
A 20mm recess was allowed in the floor to allow the builder to add their own flooring and non-flammable lift interiors in the cabin were factored also to comply with building standards.
