Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Lift / Elevator Service Technician to join our Service business unit based in NSW. Reporting to the National Service Manager, as a service technician, you will be responsible for the service and repair of lift breakdowns, emergency calls outs and routine preventative lift maintenance.
To be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate:
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose lift faults and breakdowns
- Ability to prepare detailed service reports with itemised labour and parts required for repair and ongoing preventative maintenance
- A strong understanding and experience working with electronics, mechanical and electrical Systems
- Strong administration, organisation and technical skills
- Strong communication skills across various levels both internally and externally
- Strong ability to provide technical support
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to follow through on minor and major lift repairs
- Direct experience in a similar role or work experience within the Elevator Lift industry will be highly regarded
Responsibilities:
- Completing scheduled preventative maintenance as per manufacturers’ instructions and note lift components to be monitored
- Attending service calls and completing planned and unplanned repairs
- Prepare detailed service reports with itemised labour and parts required for lift repair
- To undertake and assist with lift installations as required
- Carry out all activities in accordance with Direct Lifts policies and procedures including sound understanding of quality and safety standards
- Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned market segment to generate new business for the organisation’s products/services.
- Constantly strive to ensure optimal repair times in conjunction with the Service Manager
- Organisation and quality control of work vehicle to ensure stock levels of spare parts and tools
- Provide troubleshooting and technical support across various levels both internally and externally
- Availability to be scheduled on-call to attend to emergency lift service jobs
Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications
- Hold a current NSW Electrical licence
- Min 5 years’ industry / construction experience
- Experience on both Hydraulic & Traction Lifts
- Previous experience in diagnosis of electronics, mechanical and complex electrical systems
- NSW manual drivers Licence and reliable transport
- Construction White/Safety Card
- Commitment to working safely with a strong customer focus
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Highly motivated with ability to be flexible with regards to start/finish times and afterhours work
